Mikkeller is a microbrewery founded in 2006 in Copenhagen, Denmark that is based on the so-called "phantom" or "gypsy" ethos; that is, the company does not operate as an official brewery and, instead, collaborates with other brewers to produce their recipes or experimental one-off brews. The brewery was founded by two home brewers: Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, a high school teacher, and journalist Kristian Klarup Keller. Both sought to introduce their home-brewed beer to the public and to "challenge beer friends with intense new tastes", drawing inspiration from the American breweries that "aren't afraid to play and break all the rules".

A collaboration beer between Mikkeller and Against the Grain Brewery. Simply a Blood Orange Pilsner. Brewed with German Pilsner and munich malts, hopped with American Citra, Columbus, Amarillo and Czech Saaz and fermented with Danish lager yeast. Then we added the zest and juice from a shit-ton of blood oranges. The result is a refreshingly tart lager, with big citrus aroma worthy of even the hippest of Danish drinkers.
Style: Lager (with Blood Orange!)
From the beer geek breakfast series – the beer that really put Mikkeller on the map – we added cocoa and vanilla to the french press coffee trick, creating a whole new dimension to the beer that are loved by freaks and geeks worldwide. It’s dark, dangerous, sweet and incredibly tasty as you would expect, but most of all, it’s ready to conquer your breakfast table routines.
Style: Imperial Stout
Brewed by Mikkeller in collaboration with Thisted Bryghus, Beer Geek Limfjords Porter has achieved a world-class ranking in RateBeer’s list of the best Baltic Porters. Pouring deep hazy chestnut-like colour with a fine off-white head, Limfjordsporter’s bouquet is a powerful mix of malt, roasted malt, wood, smoke, and coffee notes, a profile echoed on the palate, and reinforced by the medium body, and slick texture that bring with them a bitter, toasty finish.
Style: Baltic Porter
The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!
