Darrell Lea was established in 1927 by the Lea family, it remains and is privately owned by an Australian Family, The Quinns. The company has grown over the years to become Australia’s largest privately owned confectionery manufacturer.
Darrell Lea products can be found in over 1000 licensed outlets across Australia, typically Pharmacies, Newsagents, GIFT Shops etc. as well as all major Supermarkets.
The popularity of Darrell Lea’s soft eating liquorice has spread beyond Australia to the USA, UK, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand. The demand for our liquorice internationally is overwhelming and growing exponentially.
The Ricci Remond Company was acquired in 1965. It is Australia’s leading brand of liquorice in the Grocery channel.
The majority of products are made in our manufacturing facility in Kogarah in southern Sydney. A small percentage of products are sourced from other manufacturers, so that we can have a complete range for our consumers and shoppers. All of our products are proudly made in Australia.
It was only natural to try dipping our famous soft-eating liquorice in our equally delicious chocolate. But our master chocolatiers decided to take it one step further. They tried a new technique: double-dipping the liquorice into the same vat of melted chocolate – giving it a unique double layer of yumminess.
