The story begins in 1974; when the wine industry in Margaret River was in start-up mode. John Evans and John Tate saw the potential of the region for producing first-class wines so planted a vineyard they named ‘Redbrook’. The two gentlemen were passionate about creating the best wines they could from their vineyard.
Over four decades later Margaret River ranks amongst the world’s elite wine growing regions. Redbrook is one of the oldest and most prestigious vineyards in Margaret River and is the centerpiece of our property. The passion displayed by our founders has endured and is a key reason why Evans & Tate is one of Australia’s favourite and most successful Margaret River wineries today.
Metricup Road runs through the heart of Margaret River and since 1974, the lush vineyards of Evans & Tate have lined their way along Metricup Road as you travel through the region.
Aroma: Striking aromas of fresh fig, lemon grass, lime leaf and passion fruit pulp overlaid with lanolin, fresh toast and spices from partial wild barrel fermentation on solids.
Palate:Fresh with great flavour intensity and length and lovely refreshing, juicy acidity. Texture and seamless integration is a feature of the wine from partial wild barrel fermentation on solids followed by time spent maturing on yeast lees.
