Set on the red-brown soils of the western Barossa Valley, Hentley Farm founders Keith and Alison Hentschke acquired the 150 acre vineyard and mixed farming property in the 1990s. Following extensive research to find out where the best red wine grapes in the Barossa Valley were being produced, their studies led them towards the rich red soils of the Seppeltsfield area. Keith used an old soil map from the 1950s to strategically locate the best parcels of land and after a number of years acquired Hentley Farm.
Lifted aromatics are the key component to this pretty wine. Aromatics of boysenberry, cherry, choc mint, pine nut, lamingtons and a slightly sweet citrus zest fill the nose. Palate flavours mirror the nose and complement the soft yet full palate texture
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Primary aromatics of blackcurrant and aniseed combine with the underlying oakderived aromatics of cinnamon, vanillin, mocha and chocolate to create a nose of great complexity and intensity. The palate is a display of traditional Barossa, with strong tannin structure throughout, intense red and black fruit, combined with well integrated oak and balanced acid.
This wine displays outstanding aromatic lift and fruit intensity. Traditional Riesling aromatics of lemon and lime lead the nose with complexity coming from characters of musk stick, passionfruit and ginger. Fresh acidity and lemon drive the palate while combining with a tropical edge and a fleshy texture throughout that provides great length and mouthfeel. Drink now as a young aromatic white or cellar for 10+ years.
As always with the Beast, layers of beautifully balanced fruit and oak fill out the back palate and provide fantastic length. Overall, a hugely rich and intense palate with the underlying soft side for which the Hentley Farm vineyard is known. - 95 Points - Halliday

Hints of peppery dark berries provide highlights to the otherwise traditional Beauty aromatics of rose petals, violets, peach and apricots. On the palate light fine tannins fill the middle and are surrounded by a silky texture with obvious creamy red fruits. Flavours of liquorice, anise and vanillin linger in the mouth. As always, The Beauty is a soft ‘melt in your mouth’ wine that surprises with its complexity and length.
Varietal: Shiraz (co-fermented with Viognier) - Single estate
This is the second most expensive wine made from Rare Red Blend in Barossa Valley.
A unique blend of the four red varietals grown on the Hentley Farm estate, this wine was fortified with a 22 year old oak age spirit dryer than most Australian fortified reds. It provides a complex aromatic profile and a soft expressive palate. For food pairing, it goes well with dark chocolate or a rich style cheese.
