The company’s history began in the first half of the nineteenth century, with just a few hectares next to the Speris’ family home.
The grapes not only form the basis for a good wine: they give it its essence, its soul, its personality. They adapt themselves to the rhythms of nature, they make themselves at home in the land in which they grow and allow themselves to be guided by the hands of the vigneron. Cultivating the land is an ancient occupation, tinged with tradition and the aura of times past. The Speris began working as vine growers in Valpolicella seven generations ago. Times change but the old values endure, as does the Speris’ pride in being part of an extraordinary area like the Valpolicella classica zone and the moral duty they feel to express its characteristics in their company’s wines.
The delicate nose is reminiscent of almond blossoms and marzipan; good depth of fruit on the palate, nicely balanced by a zingy acidity that enhances its long length.
Varietal: Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave
This is one of the most significant Valpolicella Superiore in the area and is obtained from the grapes of the Sant’Urbano vineyard, a beautiful hill in the Fumane municipality where the vine seems to find its natural position.
After being carefully selected, the grapes are left to dry for around 20-25 days, concentrating the flavours and enriching the aromas and softness, which find the perfect balance after approximately two years of ageing. It is a wine which stands out for its remarkable elegance and complexity.
This wine makes a delicious accompaniment to red meat dishes and matured cheeses and improves with age.
Grape Varieties: Corvina veronese 70%, Rondinella 20%, Molinara 5%, other autochthonous varieties 5%.
