American whiskey is a distilled beverage produced in the United States from a fermented mash of cereal grain.
The production and labeling of American whiskey are governed by Title 27 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations.
Outside of the United States, various other countries recognize certain types of American whiskey, such as Bourbon and Tennessee whiskey, as indigenous products of the United States that must be produced (although not necessarily bottled) in the United States. When sold in another country, American whiskey may also be required to conform to other local product requirements that apply to whiskey in general when sold in that country, which may in some aspects involve stricter standards than the U.S. law.

Ancient buffalo carved paths through the wilderness that led America's first pioneers and explorers westward. One such trail led to the banks of the Kentucky River where Buffalo Trace Distillery has been making bourbon whiskey the same way for more than 200 years. In tribute to the mighty buffalo and the rugged, independent spirit of the pioneers who followed them westward, we created our signature Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
This deep amber whiskey has a complex aroma of vanilla, mint and molasses. Pleasantly sweet to the taste with notes of brown sugar and spice that give way to oak, toffee, dark fruit and anise. This whiskey finishes long and smooth with serious depth.
The Glencairn Whisky Glass is a revolutionary whisky glass that really lets one savor the taste and complexity of fine whisky. I was going to write something cheesy about cowboys, campfires, and whiskey but I figured you might be more interested in how HIGH WEST WHISKEY CAMPFIRE® came to be. One morning at the Bruichladdich distillery B&B, my wife and I smelled peat in the air - the great ladies that made our meals were simmering a bottle of peated whiskey and sugar! Later that night, they brought out dessert of ripe honeydew drizzled with the peated syrup. That was the most unusual, delicious and memorable ending to a dinner I’ve ever had. The combination of melon and sweet smoke really worked - so (naturally...) I thought why not mix sweet bourbon and peat? Worked for me! The main flavor (or melody) is sweet honey from a ripe bourbon. The enhancing flavor (or harmony) is floral fruity spice from a mature rye whiskey. The accent (Satchmo’s gravelly voice!) is the smoke from a peated scotch whisky. The proportions? Top secret. So...as the sun sinks low and the cold settles in, grab a bottle of HIGH WEST WHISKEY CAMPFIRE® and gather round a blazing fire to warm up, wind down your day, share stories, and deepen friendships. One taste of this sweet, spicy and, yes...smoky whiskey, you’ll know how it got its name. We like to enjoy HIGH WEST WHISKEY CAMPFIRE® with s’mores…or good-looking strangers. If you find yourself in Old Town Park City, you ought to come visit the High West Distillery and Saloon and get a taste of our Western hospitality and our crowd-pleasing victuals. David Perkins.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt:
Nose: Golden syrup, peach, honey, a little rye spice and just a wisp of peat smoke.
Palate: A big hit of rye, cinnamon and sultanas, before we're back in honeyed toffee territory. Peat completes the tail of the palate.
Finish: Sultanas, toffee and lingering peat smoke.
Overall: Global blending is something we're going to see more of, especially if this one's anything to go by. Don't think, either, that due to the name this will be like eating embers, the peat is used sparingly to create a well balanced, and original addition to High West's range.
Marriage of two straight rye whiskies that combines the feisty properties of a high rye 2-year-old and the saddle smooth richness of a 16-year-old. The 2-year-old has a 95% rye 5% barley malt mashbill. The older rye has a "barely legal" rye mashbill of 53% rye and 37% corn. The extra age and corn provides some extra sweetness to calm the "bite" of the younger rye for a relationship that works.
Thanks to its balance of cinnamon, anise, and honey, HIGH WEST DOUBLE RYE! is great served neat, with a little water, or on the rocks. And its spirited flavor fortifies classic cocktails like the Manhattan and Old Fashioned. We recommend it for most occasions - sipping it in solitude by a campfire, savoring with favorite old friends, or sharing it with a good-looking stranger. See our "Cocktails" section for cocktails that our friends have helped us out with.

Rendezvous® Rye is a blend of two exotic straight rye whiskies; one old, and one young. It marries the rich aromatic qualities of a 16-year-old rye with the bold spicy properties of 6-year-old rye to create a full flavored, very complex whiskey. The 6-year-old boasts an uncommonly high 95% rye mash bill. Almost every other straight rye whiskey you can buy today is barely legal, with 51-53% rye in the mash bill. Not Rendezvous® Rye. It honors the way rye whiskey used to be made, with a high rye content and full, uncompromised flavor. With Rendezvous® Rye, you get a taste of authentic rye whiskey. We hope you enjoy it.
Not chill filtered, not carbon treated. Whiskey #1: Minimum 5 year Old Bourbon- 75% corn, 20% rye, 5% barley malt (LDI now MGP), Whiskey #2: Minimum 5 year Old Rye - 95% rye, 5% barley malt (LDI now MGP). The ratios of whiskies are top secret! However, no bourbon today has more rye in the final product!
Son Of Bourye® is best enjoyed neat and on the rocks.

Maker's Mark is a unique and full-flavoured, hand-made Bourbon, made using the old-style sour-mash method and sealed with the iconic red wax. Rich, smooth and full-flavoured, this is one to sip by itself rather than mix. Maker's Mark use wheat instead of rye which, along with the second distillation, being pot stilled and only producing 19 barrels per batch, lets them produce a quality bourbon that delivers way above its price point. No discerning whisky drinker could pass this one up.
Renowned for rye, America’s first whiskey, since our founding in 1753, we take production of every barrel of Michter’s Rye very seriously. Our US*1 Rye is made from select American rye grain that is sheared to enable the saturation of more flavor during fermentation. It is then aged in a heated warehouse. This premium rye has hints of light spice, black pepper, marmalade and plum, spicy grain and light caramel.
Style: Rye Whiskey
We never add neutral grain spirits to stretch our Unblended American Whiskey. That’s why Michter’s US*1 Unblended is the most richly flavored American Whiskey we have ever tasted. Cooperage: Bourbon-soaked American white oak barrels.
This is an elegant crystal version of the iconic Glencairn Glass.
The Glencairn glass is a glass specifically for the whisky drinker. It size and shape has been perfected to accommodate a 35ml pour, allowing for addition of water but keeping an optimum amount of liquid in contact with air to allow the aromas to develop. The tapering mouth allows for an ease of drinking whilst capturing the all-important aromas. The wide crystal bowl enhances the appreciation of the whisky's colour whilst the solid base is designed to be easy in the hand but robust enough for the discerning regular whisky drinker.
Since its launch in 2001 the glass has won numerous awards including the Queens Award for Innovation.
Very floral on the nose with wonderful citrus notes; more citrus on the palate with loads of honey & then turning quite herbal on the finish. An incredibly different and inviting array of aromas & flavors when water is added!
Taste: Lemon, black tea, butterscotch, citrus, nutty, honey... With water added, bananas & milk chocolate
